BUILDING ORGANIZATIONAL RESILENCE WORKSHOP
CONTENTS
1. Objective 2. Workshop Highlights 3. Workshop Agenda 4. Workshop Instructor 1. OBJECTIVE The objective of the Building Organizational Resilience workshop is to provide the participants with a set of tools and perspectives that will assist them in building individual and organizational resilience. This is particularly important given the rapid and often simultaneous changes in several environments, from work to global. The workshop combines a number of insights from a wide array of subjects, such as psychology, management theory and practice, science, spirituality, current events, geography and history, to introduce a practical approach to effectively managing increasingly complex organizations. 2. WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS Degrees of Freedom (TM) Framework: This is a universal framework that relates the level of operation an individual, organization, or even a country may be operating at, with the degrees of freedom available to it. The higher the level of operation, the more the degrees of freedom available to the entity, and therefore the more responses it has to changes in the marketplace, or at the time of critical or even routine decision-making. Typical levels of operation include the Material, Financial, and Conceptual levels. The Degrees of Freedom framework also provides powerful insight into organizational maturity and development and therefore becomes an essential tool for planning for organizational resilience building. Manifestation by Design (TM): In line with the Degrees of Freedom Framework, Manifestation by Design is an individual-focused tool that allows decision-makers to become aware of the choices they have in creating their immediate and practical environment. Uniqueness Model (TM): The premise of this model is that any successful creation must be unique. This applies to organizations, to individuals, and has an important corollary around the relationship between an organization and its employees. Generally speaking, there are four archetypes that stand behind the formation of an individuals personality, or that drive the development of a successful organization. These archetypes are Knowledge, Power, Mutuality, and Perfection. While one aspect will always prevail in any individual or successful organization, individual or organizational uniqueness may be due to a unique combination of the various capacities underlying each of the archetypes. Insight into the defining characteristic of the organization and the key decision-makers will provide important levers by which to further develop and mold an organization. Lessons from the New Science: A look at some of the findings of Complex Adaptive Systems, Quantum Physics, and recent advances in Biology, as they relate to organizational functioning. WITHIN & TEAMAWARE: Live demonstrations and hands-on exercises from WITHIN & TEAMAWARE. WITHIN focuses on gaining self-mastery, and TEAMAWARE on helping teams work together better. The Contextual Imperative India & The World: A look at recent global events that throw light on the role India and its organizations may have to play in the new millennium. Future Organizational Glimpses: A look at what some future organizational practices, boundaries, and defining circumstances might be. 3.
